{"id":271,"date":"2018-02-09T23:23:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-09T23:23:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lakehopatcongcommission.org\/?page_id=271"},"modified":"2018-05-11T23:55:11","modified_gmt":"2018-05-12T03:55:11","slug":"water-level","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lakehopatcongcommission.org\/index.php\/water-level\/","title":{"rendered":"Water Level"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-271\"  class=\"panel-layout\" ><div id=\"pg-271-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-271-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-271-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Mother Nature and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.nj.us\/dep\/parksandforests\/parks\/hopatcong.html\">Hopatcong State Park<\/a> personnel control the water level in Lake Hopatcong.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.nj.us\/dep\/parksandforests\/parks\/hopatcong.html\">Hopatcong State Park<\/a> personnel manage the lake level as outlined in the <a href=\"http:\/\/lakehopatcongcommission.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/20011-LH-WLMP.pdf\">2011 Lake Hopatcong Water Level Management Plan<\/a>.\u00a0 The goal of the plan is to protect the environmental health and the natural and scenic resources of Lake Hopatcong\/Musconetcong River System, maximize recreational opportunities, minimize the potential for damage to property and waterfront structures, while maintaining the minimum flow requirements necessary to protect downstream uses, including but not necessarily limited to: aquatic biota, historic resources and water quality.\u00a0 Each year the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.state.nj.us\/dep\/parksandforests\/parks\/hopatcong.html\">NJ DEP Division of Parks and Forestry - State Park Service<\/a> follows procedures to to manage the level of Lake Hopatcong.\u00a0 However, the annual precipitation does effect the raising or lowering of the lake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Up to date information on the Lake Hopatcong water level is provided by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/waterdata.usgs.gov\/usa\/nwis\/uv?01455400\">USGS Gauge<\/a>\u00a0located in the gatehouse at the Lake Hopatcong Dam.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-271-1\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-271-1-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-271-1-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_media_image panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"1\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/lakehopatcongcommission.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Screen-Shot-2018-05-11-at-11.47.59-PM-e1526096996892-300x300.png\" class=\"image wp-image-1092  attachment-medium size-medium\" alt=\"\" style=\"max-width: 100%;
