The Lake Hopatcong Commission has partnered with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) Water Resources Program to offer rebates of up to $450<\/strong><\/span> to homeowners that build rain gardens or shoreline buffers. Our goal for this program is to install at least sixteen (16) gardens within our watershed over the next two years to help improve the lake\u2019s water quality. \u00a0This free<\/strong><\/span> program is open to residents of Jefferson, Hopatcong, Mount Arlington and Roxbury who reside in the Lake Hopatcong Watershed to learn the basics of rain garden installation and design a rain garden for\u00a0your home.<\/p>\n

As part of the registration process, attendees will be given the option to sign up for a free<\/strong><\/span> follow-up rain garden design session with Rutgers landscape professionals. With detailed guidance in hand, rebates may be awarded to participating residents who install a rain garden or shoreline buffer designed by Rutgers on their property. \u00a0Our next workshops will be held on March 3, 2021 at 12pm or 7pm. \u00a0Attendance at one of the workshops is required to quality for the rebate program<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
